  • Product Description

Built to last a lifetime, ProCook Cast Iron cookware rivals the quality of top brands in the market place and is exceptional value for money.

The 24cm round casserole has a 4.7L capacity and with cast iron offering incredibly even heat distribution, it is the perfect vessel for slow cooking of stews and casseroles and even roast joints. With a black enamelled exterior and matte black enamelled interior there is no need for pre-seasoning this casserole dish before use.

Featuring a smart stainless steel knob and comfortable ergonomic handles designed to hold easily with oven gloves, and a robust tight fitting lid, ProCook's cast iron casserole is designed to look as stylish as it is utilitarian.

Coated inside and out with toughened enamel. the casserole also has enamel pimples inside the lid for enhanced self basting.

A true workhorse in the kitchen, ProCook cast iron casseroles are suitable for all hobs including induction and solid fuel, and are oven safe to 260C.

To keep your casserole in peak condition we recommend you wash by hand. If you do put it in the dishwasher this may result in the dulling of the enamel over time but will not affect the performance.

  • Care Instructions

Getting the most from your Cast Iron Cookware

Step 1: Wash the cookware thoroughly

    Wash before first use.

Each piece in the range is dishwasher safe so cleaning is easy, or alternatively wash in hot soapy water with a soft brush or nylon pad

If using a dishwasher, please ensure your cookware is removed from the dishwasher and fully dried immediately after the cleaning cycle is finished, and that all raw edges are lightly oiled prior to storing to prevent oxidisation (rusting).

    .

Step 2: Cooking with Cast Iron

All pieces in the Cast Iron range feature a robust enamel coating inside and out, to ensure it remains rust free. Do not use metal utensils on the surface as this can damage the coating. We advise using nylon, silicone or wooden utensils for best results.

Always use a low or medium heat when cooking food. This not only helps preserve the enamel coating, but also helps preserve the natural nutrients in the food.

Never fill or plunge a hot pan with cold water as a rapid, dramatic temperature change can cause the cast iron to break.

Cast Iron is suitable for use on all hobs including induction and solid fuel. Extra special care should be taken on both induction and ceramic hobs not to move pans around once placed on the hob to prevent possible scratching. Scratched hobs are not covered by your ProCook guarantee.

Keep the heat source under the base of the pan to prevent overheating.

Cast iron casseroles and griddles are oven safe to 260C. Ensure your pans are not exposed to oven temperatures greater than 260C.

Please take care when moving the pans during cooking as the pans get very hot and are very heavy. Always use an oven glove or silicone handle cover.

Cast Iron is not suitable for use in microwaves.

Some tips for cooking on induction hobs

Induction hobs can deliver extremely high heat outputs, often at double or triple times that of a typical gas hob. Therefore, extra care must be taken to reduce the heat setting as excessive heat will damage the pan and this may not be covered by your guarantee.

Only use high heat or boost settings for boiling large quantities of water (e.g. for pasta).

Reduce the heat setting as soon as the desired temperature has been achieved.

Do not use the boost setting to heat oil or fat.

Never heat an empty pan - the high output from an induction hob may damage the pan which is not covered by the guarantee.

Step 3: Cleaning those difficult bits

Always allow the pan to cool completely before immersing in water.

If there are any burnt-on-bits on pans, soak the pan in hot soapy water to loosen then wash as normal

Do not use steel wool or metal pads as they will scratch the surface of the cookware. Although they will not damage how the pan functions, they may affect the general aesthetic of the cookware.

When cleaning your cast iron cookware please ensure it is fully dried immediately afterwards, and that all raw edges are lightly oiled prior to storing to prevent oxidisation (rusting).

By following these guidelines your cookware will last for many years of happy use and will keep your guarantee intact.

    Care Guidelines:

    • Use medium to low heat setting to maintain ideal temperatures and prevent food sticking.
    • Keep heat source under the base of the pan to prevent overheating.
    • Use plastic or wooden utensils to avoid scratching the enamel surface.
    • Do not stand hot pans on an unprotected surface.
    • Never fill/plunge a hot pan with cold water.
    • EU max limit on lead enameling is 1.5mg/l, ours is tested with a trace element of less than 0.05mg/l .
    • Please take care when moving the pans during cooking as the pans get very hot and are very heavy. Always use an oven glove or silicone handle cover.
    • Cast iron is heavy, hard, somewhat brittle and may break if dropped.

Very good casserole pot, very easy to clean and not to heavy

This was a " dither" purchase as I already have a great number of pots and pans in various forms, ranging from stainless, cast iron, ceramic and back again.. Just over a week old now and I have made a Beef stew and dumplings, a frittata (which turned out perfectly) and a cottage pie in it... Perfect size, easy to clean and looks very stylish. I imagine it would make the most perfect paella or risotto pan and one hundred other uses that have yet to occur to me in the first week ! Elegant enough to take to table.I love this very versatile little pan !
